We use technology to engage and encourage plan members to take advantage of their workplace savings plans. We do this with personalized nudges, typically through our digital coach Ella, to proactively engage members at pivotal life moments. We design the nudges to improve plan member outcomes. Our nudges and innovations are backed by intuitive digital design and behavioural economics principles.
Of the 25 million digital sessions we see in a year, over 60% of those are coming from our highly rated mobile app. We’re continuously improving our mobile app features and adding capabilities to ensure members can manage their plan from the palm of their hand. With the app, GRS plan members can easily complete tasks such as enrolling in their workplace plan, selecting or changing their investments, make contributions, name, view and edit a beneficiary, and much more.
Ella is our exclusive digital coach. Available on our mobile app, online at mysunlife.ca, Amazon Alexa (provider search) and via email.
Her two main accountabilities are being a coach and an assistant.
As a coach, Ella asks members to take actions that benefit their health or financial wellbeing.
As an assistant, Ella makes life easier for members by highlighting information and presenting helpful ideas at just the right time – the result is personalized to each member. Caring, knowledgeable and optimistic, Ella provides relevant information, insight, and advice, surfacing important information the plan member might have otherwise missed, all while guiding them in how to take action.
