What is the MHC?
Our personalized mental health care solution proactively encourages at-risk plan members experiencing mental health challenges to get support before their symptoms worsen.
How does it work?
MHCs are licensed health-care practitioners. They work actively with members to set clear and achievable goals following a mental health risk assessment. MHCs focus on:
- creating a personalized action plan for members based on their unique needs and preferences. This includes:
- finding culturally relevant care,
- virtual or in-person practitioners.
- connecting them to the treatment and resources available in their plan, through their employer and publicly funded programs.
- providing ongoing support to help plan members reach their goals.
MHC outcomes
Findings from the Mental Health Coach pilot show that the program:
- Successfully engages at-risk members
- Removes barriers and prompts access to care
- Improves health outcomes
- Reduces absence duration
