Dave Keirstead

Dave Keirstead is the Senior Vice-President of Operations at Sun Life Canada. In his role, Dave leads Canadian Operations, supported by more than 5,000 employees across Canada and Sun Life Global Solutions in Asia. He is responsible for delivering exceptional Client experiences that will help to shape Sun Life Canada's future. 

Dave is a transformative leader with over 20 years of expertise in data, analytics, and applied artificial intelligence (AI). He brings invaluable experience gained from driving transformation across multiple sectors, including underwriting, claims, disability, marketing, and distribution. This broad perspective enables Dave to drive comprehensive improvements and foster innovation throughout the organization.

Prior to his current position, Dave served as Sun Life Canada's Chief Data and Analytics Officer from 2022 to 2025. During his tenure, he modernized the company's data, analytics, and AI practices, enabling greater insights and Client impact. As the Canada lead for Sun Life's GenAI Centre of Excellence, Dave shaped and scaled the AI strategy, driving adoption across the business and delivering outcomes through experimentation, governance, and talent development.
