Eric Monteiro

Senior Vice-President, Chief Client Experience Officer

As Senior Vice-President, Chief Client Experience Officer, Eric’s mandate is to design and deliver great Client experiences across our channels and businesses in Canada. Eric’s team is accountable for our web and mobile platforms, our proactive and predictive Client engagement platform and our group member direct sales teams. Eric also leads our data and analytics function, ensuring engagement is anchored on a deep understanding of Clients’ needs and preferences.

Eric joined Sun Life in 2016 as Chief Analytics and Engineering Officer for Individual Insurance and Wealth (now known as Distributors, Insurance Solutions and Investment Solutions). In that role, he was responsible for overseeing the businesses’ ongoing evolution agenda and building out the analytics and engineering capabilities to ensure quality of practices and standards.

Prior to joining Sun Life, Eric was Chief Strategy and Analytics Officer at Aimia Inc., the global leader in loyalty analytics and marketing. While at Aimia, he sat on the board of Fractal Analytics. Before joining Aimia, Eric was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he spent 15 years serving clients across the financial services, telecom and tech sectors, focusing on technology, operations and strategic topics. Eric co-led the Digital McKinsey practice in Canada during his last years at the organization.

Born and raised in Brazil, Eric has a Robotics Engineering degree from The University of Sao Paulo, and an MBA with high-distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, as well as an ICD.D designation for Corporate Directors.
