Contract Update: Announcing a change to our medical second opinion services provider

This communication is intended for advisors and consultants with Clients who include Teladoc Medical Experts in their benefits plan.
Starting June 1, 2025, second opinion medical services will be offered through the Lumino Health Virtual Care platform. We’ll share more information about this service closer to the launch date.
What this change means for your Clients
As of June 1, 2025, Teladoc Medical Experts will no longer be available through Sun Life group benefits plans. We’ll automatically transition your Clients with Teladoc Medical Experts services to Sun Life Medical Second Opinion, by Dialogue. The service will be available through the Lumino Health Virtual Care platform. The service will also be available through a dedicated phone line, accessible 24/7.There won’t be any impact for plan members. Teladoc will continue to provide their services to plan members and their dependents who already have an open case at the time of transition.
No action is required from you or your Clients when it comes to the transfer of their plan. But we’ll provide a plan member flyer to plan sponsors closer to the June 1, 2025, launch date for them to share more details with their employees.

Commissions
Advisor commissions will be paid and are built into the quote price. The commission scale isn’t changing.

We’ll be sharing this Focus Update tomorrow with your Clients who have Teladoc Medical Experts services to let them know about the change.
Next Steps
Currently, we’re communicating only to existing Teladoc Medical Experts Clients. We’ll provide information about the services to other Clients, in the coming weeks.
