Introducing Demographic file error reports

July 22, 2024

As part of our commitment to data transparency, we continue to enhance our foundation to respond to your needs. That’s why we’re creating a solution that will find demographic file errors. This new enhancement will allow you to take immediate action to correct any errors in your files before they become a bigger concern.

Error reports will be classified into two categories: ‘Critical error’ and ‘non-critical alert.’

Critical Error

A critical error means that a member record has information that’s missing or inaccurate, which has prevented the record from being added to our system. It’s very important that a critical error be corrected in the next demographic file sent to Sun Life so that the member can be added to our system.

Non-critical alert

A member record that is flagged with a non-critical alert is still updated in our system. However, inaccurate or missing information flagged as non-critical may still affect plan administration and can cause issues for members. So, it’s important that these alerts are corrected in the next demographic file sent to Sun Life.

Once you have downloaded the error report, you’ll be able to review the error and gather the correct member details for your next demographic file upload.

This feature will be available to you starting {insert date}and will ensure your member records are processed correctly.

Error reports can be found under Reports > Sponsor summaries > Demographic file errors reports.
