Coming soon: online options packages

Starting in November, online option packages will be available on the plan member secure site. This provides plan members who leave their workplace plan, a faster, more convenient way to access important information.
The launch will happen in two steps:
- In October: settlement option packages will be posted on the plan member secure site. There won’t be any notifications sent to plan members, and they’ll continue to receive printed option package as usual.
- In November: A notification will be sent to plan members, letting them know their option package is available online. Plan members who’ve opted for paperless delivery will stop receiving the printed option package.
What this means for plan members:
- Quick access – settlement option package can be viewed as soon as it’s available (the day after it’s created).
- Faster decisions – no need to wait for physical mail.
- No delays – avoid postal service disruptions.
- Environmentally friendly – help reduce paper use.
What you need to know:
We’ll honour paperless preferences. We’ll continue to mail option packages only to those who opt for paper delivery. The new process will be as follows:
- Paper delivery:
Plan members will continue to receive the option package by mail and will be directed to the plan member secure site, as any applicable enclosures will be made available online. - Paperless flag:
- If a personal email is on file – an email notification will be sent advising that their settlement option package is available online.
- If a personal email isn’t on file – a letter will be mailed to inform them that their option package is available online.
- Email bounce-back:
If we can’t reach the plan member by email - a letter will be mailed to them, advising the plan member to view their settlement option package online.
