Medical cannabis coverage now includes chronic and neuropathic pain

We understand that living with chronic and neuropathic pain can be a big challenge. That’s why we’re happy to announce our optional medical cannabis coverage now includes these conditions. If you’ve selected this option, the additional feature makes treatment easier to access for plan members while aligning with industry standards.

To qualify for this coverage, plan members need to:

  • Ask their doctor to fill out our updated prior approval form confirming that standard treatment options, tried for a specific time, didn’t provide the health benefits expected
  • Make sure the completed form meets Sun Life’s coverage criteria

This process helps ensure plan members receive the most appropriate care when they need it the most.
