The cost of your life insurance premiums (monthly or annual fees) depends on various factors, including your age, your assigned sex at birth, your current health and how much insurance you need. It also depends on what type of product you buy.

Term life insurance rates

We offer three term life insurance products: Sun Life Go Simplified Term Life Insurance, Sun Life Go Term Life Insurance, and Sun Life Evolve Term Insurance.

The charts indicate average rates that may apply to you – based on your age, assigned sex at birth and smoking status – if you purchase one of these products.

Rates for Sun Life Go Simplified Term Life Insurance

This product offers coverage in amounts of $50,000, $75,000 or $100,000. It lasts 10 years.

You can apply for this product online, and you won’t be required to take a medical exam. Although approval isn’t immediately guaranteed, you’ll only answer 3 simple health questions during the application process. Rates for this product may be higher because medical tests aren’t required. Generally, the less an insurance company asks about your health, the greater the cost for protection will be.

Rates for Sun Life Go Term Life Insurance

This product offers coverage from $100,000 and up to $1 million. It can last 10 or 20 years, depending on your selection.

You can apply for this product online, and you can also skip the medical tests if you’re healthy and age 40 or under. If you’re healthy and between the age of 41-50, and you’re applying for coverage up to $500,000, then you’re also eligible to skip medical exams. However, regardless of your age, you will have to answer a few medical questions when you first apply. See product details

Rates for this product may be higher because – in some cases, depending on your age and health –  medical tests aren’t required. Remember, the less an insurance company asks about your health, the greater your premiums.

Rates for Sun Life Evolve Term Insurance

This product offers coverage from $50,000 and up to $25 million. It can last anywhere from 5 to 40 years, depending on your selection.

You can apply for this product only through an advisor. Sun Life Evolve Term Insurance gives you the option to increase your coverage at certain life stages (e.g. marriage, children, mortgage, etc.) with simplified underwriting  and you can get different term lengths for different needs. For instance, you can get a 10-year policy to protect your business and a 25-year policy for your mortgage.
