How to get started for Insurance Clients and Group Benefit Members

Critical Illness Insurance for Individual Clients

Eligible owners of Sun Life critical illness insurance can begin to use Medical Second Opinion by contacting the Call Centre at 1-833-286-5614. This service is available without making a claim.

A Call Centre Agent will help create your Medical Second Opinion account. You'll need to provide your policy number.

Once your account is setup, you can begin using Medical Second Opinion through the Lumino Health Virtual Care app via mobile or web.

Group Benefit Members

Eligible Sun Life Members can begin to use Medical Second Opinion through the Lumino Health Virtual Care app via mobile or web.

  1. Go to luminovc.dialogue.co or download the Lumino Health Virtual Care app for iPhone and Android.
  2. Click on “Create your account.”
  3. Follow the instructions on your screen to create your account.
  4. Complete your profile and begin your journey.

The service is also available through a dedicated phone line, accessible 24/7 at 1-833-286-5614.

Sun Life Medical Second Opinion is available to eligible Members and extends to their spouse, eligible dependents, parents and parent in laws.

If you are part of a Sun Life group benefits plan, please check your member booklet or reach out to your employer.

If you have purchased critical illness insurance, you will have received a welcome letter providing information about access to the service. You can also reach out to your advisor for help.

  • Call centre and in-app appointments and servicing is available 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday
  • Call centre intake is 24/7 with option for voicemail
  • In-app care coordination and app access is available 24/7

The Lumino Health Virtual Care App connects you with coverage you have with your insurance plan.

The Dialogue Care Team is made up of both Care Coordinators (case administrators) and clinical practitioners (e.g. registered nurses, medical doctors).

Members will benefit from having a dedicated Care Team for a Medical Second Opinion case, which means a dedicated Care Coordinator assigned to the case as well as dedicated clinical practitioners working on the case.
