The Sun Life Account Executive Development Program welcomes students from all kinds of post-secondary backgrounds. If you are eager to build the skills you need for success in a client-facing role, we encourage you to apply.
We look for students with 1-2 years of co-op/internship or other work experience to bring into the program. Academic performance is important, but it’s not the only criteria. You’ll have an interest in and affinity for mathematics complemented by your commitment to learning and growing through an experiential program.
Program participants must be located within the hiring region in Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, or Ontario), or be willing to relocate for placement in an Account Executive position. You’ll also need a valid driver’s license and readiness to travel in this role.
Expand your knowledge and capabilities with practical work experience over a series of two rotations in our Account Executive Development Program. You’ll build confidence as a Group Underwriter and a Service Specialist over 24-36 months. When the program is complete, you’ll be considered for Account Executive role with accountability for your own block of business.
Account Executives are the face of Sun Life, overseeing a portfolio of group benefits clients. During your rotation as a Group Underwriter, you will learn about risk selection and pricing while building strong relationships with our sales team. In your Service Specialist rotation, you will continue to build and maintain Advisor relationships while developing a strong knowledge of Sun Life products and services.
As an AEDP program graduate, you’ll be considered for an opportunity to move forward as a qualified Account Executive with an assigned market and portfolio, including financial accountability for your assigned book of business. It’s an energizing and rewarding role working with Sun Life clients in your region.
Sun Life recruits for our new graduate programs on an annual basis. AEDP Rotational Program opportunities are activated each September, and the recruitment process is usually completed by late October. Entry to the program is flexible and arranged on an individual basis with program participants.
