Update about the Lumino Health Virtual Care Employee Assistance Program (EAP), by Dialogue and Lumino Health rebranding

We have some news to share with you about:

  1. New EAP enhancements
  2. The timing of Lumino Health Virtual Care–related contract changes
  3. Lumino Health branding

1. Lumino Health Virtual Care EAP, by Dialogue1

Our EAP includes support for a broad range of work and life areas. We’re happy to announce we’re adding the following new features in October 2025:

  • Provider selection for mental health concerns – includes new filters plan members can use to narrow down the list of providers.
  • Diet and nutrition – includes virtual access to a dietitian and live coaching to support general nutrition and healthy eating.
  • Coach-led internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) – complements our already existing self-led iCBT. Plan members will have the option to choose between the two types to help manage their mental health at their own pace, with or without a coach.
  • Workplace referral – an optional service within the EAP. It can be requested by a people leader or Human Resources if it’s noticed that a plan member is experiencing mental health concerns or substance use challenges. An additional fee will apply, and the cost will be billed directly to you by Dialogue.  

For additional information about these upcoming enhancements, please refer to our Scope of Practice brochure. If the EAP is included in your benefits plan, we’ve updated the EAP plan member flyer for you to share with your employees.

2. Update about Lumino Health Virtual Care, provided by Dialogue, contract revisions

If you have Lumino Health Virtual Care, provided by Dialogue, products and services included in your benefits plan, we sent you a communication in July that amended your Sun Life Group Benefits contract(s).

We told you that starting October 1, 2025 we would:

  • update contracts and booklets at your next plan revision to reflect the new name and wording changes.
  • begin rolling out name changes for our Lumino Health Virtual Care–branded products and services.

These changes will now be made in 2026. We know that many of you share Lumino Health Virtual Care brochures and flyers with your plan members through your intranet or other channels. We will be revising this marketing collateral in 2026. Stay tuned for more information.

Although we’ve postponed these contract updates, we’ve added the features (listed above) to the EAP at no cost to you. 

3. Update about name changes for Lumino HealthTM Pharmacy2 , provided by Pillway3 and Lumino Health

Branding changes related to pharmacy services and programs will be proceeding as planned. These changes include Online Pharmacy, by Pillway, and Pharmacy Services, by Pharmacie Abd-EI-Monem Osman, Inc. These changes have no impact on contract or booklet wording, as these services are not part of our benefits plan.

Plan member communications are being updated to include the new Sun Life branding starting in October. 

  • Note: We have retired the articles, guides and all other content from Luminohealth.ca due to low usage by plan members. Plan members looking for health and wellness content will now be redirected from luminohealth.ca to sunlife.ca where they can find useful resources for mental and physical health.
  • Sun Life Provider Search (formerly Lumino Provider Search) continues to be available within the my Sun Life app and mysunlife.ca.
  • Plan members can also continue to find health and wellness discounts and offers in the Offers section (formerly Lumino Resources & Offers).
