How to participate in the CDCP
Oral health providers can confirm their participation by signing up with Sun Life or by participating on a claim-by-claim basis.
All oral health providers who treat CDCP clients need to agree to bill and can receive payment directly from Sun Life for CDCP services covered under the plan. There is no way for CDCP clients to receive reimbursement from Sun Life.
Signing up to the CDCP
Oral health providers can sign up online on Sun Life Direct. They can sign in to their existing Sun Life Direct account and select the “Sign up” button to confirm their participation.
Don’t have a Sun Life Direct account? Simply print and complete the provider participation form, then mail it back to the address provided.
Advantages of signing up for the CDCP
Oral health providers who sign up to participate in the CDCP can:
- Confirm coverage for CDCP clients through Sun Life Direct.
- Appear in the CDCP Provider Search Tool.
Providers have the option to opt-out at any time by contacting Sun Life’s CDCP Contact Centre at 1-888-888-8110.
Participating on a claim-by-claim basis
Oral health providers can use their current processes to submit a CDCP claim to Sun Life as long as they can receive payment directly from Sun Life. When submitting a claim, the Explanation of Benefit (EOB) will include a notice of acceptance:
“By having made this submission, you agree to be subject to the terms of the CDCP claims processing and payment terms (Billing agreement). Should you wish to withdraw your submission, you are able to do so electronically if it is done on the same day as the submission was made, or otherwise by contacting Sun Life’s CDCP Contact Centre at 1-888-888-8110.”
Oral health providers can confirm coverage for CDCP clients using an EDI estimate or by contacting the Sun Life CDCP Contact Centre at 1-888-888-8110.
Claim-by-claim providers can decide to formally sign up to the CDCP at any time.
