Provider Search and Profiles

Provider Search is not a health-care clinic or practice. It is an online tool to help you search and connect with health-care providers.

Our team works to support inquiries about how the tool works, how to navigate it and to support profiles; the creation and maintenance of them. Our team has no access to patient information or the booking history of clinics or practices. 

If you would like to book an appointment with a health-care provider, follow these steps: 

  1. Using the Provider Search tool, start your search by typing in the provider name, condition, service or specialty. 
  2. Add your location by address, city or postal code.
  3. Press search.
  4. You can refine your search by selecting any of the filters that appear under the search bar or select more filter fields by clicking on ‘filter and sort’.
  5. Scroll through the list of provider profiles that match your search and location.
  6. Connect with the provider by clicking on book now or request an appointment. Booking options will depend on the provider profile.

Provider Search is a platform built to easily connect Sun Life Clients and Canadians with health-care providers. We offer free profiles to health-care providers to help them promote and grow their business.

A basic profile is automatically created when a Sun Life client submits a claim for a health-care provider.

Sun Life Clients have the option to rate their provider after they submit a claim. Ratings are based on the Client’s experience with the provider they visited. Sun Life doesn’t endorse or recommend any provider over another.

To keep ratings on our platform relevant and up to date, we now display ratings only from July 23, 2020 onward. Ratings collected prior to this date are no longer reflected on profiles.

Details on a provider’s approximate cost are helpful for patients to make more informed health-care decisions.

Cost indicators of $, $$ and $$$ are part of the provider listings on Provider Search.

The cost indicators are based on recent claims submitted to Sun Life by Sun Life clients. They may not always reflect the most current pricing but are meant to be an indicator of what a provider has recently been charging.

If you’re a paramedical provider, please contact the admin of the facility Sun Life Connect account to have your profile deleted. Profiles are created and added to a facility account.

If you’re an oral health provider, you can delete your profile by logging in to your Sun Life Direct.

Providers can respond to verified patient reviews in Sun Life Connect (SLC). The guideline policy for a review response can be found in SLC.

If a review includes personal information, health information, profanity, specific dollar amounts, or promotional content, your review is eligible for a dispute.​ To begin the dispute process, you may contact us by email at provider.search@sunlife.com. Be sure to include your Sun Life Connect email address, the reason for the dispute, and the date the review was posted. We will get back to you within four business days. Please note that disagreement with a review or personal preferences is not a valid reason for disputing a review.​
