Sun Life cares about protecting your personal information. With two-step verification, signing in might look a little different, but it will help keep your account information protected.

What it means for you

Sun Life is serious about protecting your personal data. Two-step verification adds an extra layer of security that will help prevent someone else from getting into your account to access sensitive business and patient information. Sun Life will verify your identity with a verification code when we consider it necessary.

How it works

It doesn’t take long to set up:

  • Start by signing into your Sun Life Connect account and selecting ‘get set up.’

Select get the verification code. The code will be emailed to the primary email associated to your login credentials.

  • Enter the verification code that you’ve received.
  • Add up to two additional email addresses. *
  • Once you’ve registered to confirm your identity, you may be asked to verify your identity during sign-in. It may be because you're signing in with an unfamiliar browser. 
  • If you’ve selected to add optional emails, if and when you’re prompted to verify your identity, you’ll have the option of selecting which email address you want the verification code emailed to.
  • Never give anyone else your verification code.

*This is an optional step and is not required to complete two-step verification, or to login.

No. At Sun Life we are dedicated to protecting your data. Two-step verification provides an added layer of security to help keep your account safe from unauthorized users in case your password is ever compromised.

You can have a combination of up to three email addresses.  You might want to add more ways to verify your login. 

The verification code may take a few minutes to appear in your inbox. Please wait before requesting a new verification code. 

If you don’t see an email from sunlifeconnect@sunlife.com in your inbox with the verification code, check your junk and spam folders. If you still don’t see the email, try turning off your VPN and request a new verification code.

Your email addresses will be used only to provide you with your one-time verification code during the two-step verification process. The contact information that you provide us will not be used for any other communication or marketing purpose.

No. When you set up two-step verification, you’ll be asked to verify your identity from time to time and when and if something’s changed.
