Plan sponsors may wish to consider whether this investment news has any implications for the investment options available within their plans. Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada purchases units of the funds listed below. They are established as segregated funds under the Insurance Companies Act (Canada).
In March 2021, we communicated that CI Investments Inc. was rebranded as CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM). As part of the rebranding, they integrated several in-house investment boutiques below into CI GAM:
- Cambridge Global Asset Management
- CI Multi-Asset Management
- Harbour Advisors
- Sentry Investment Management
- Signature Global Asset Management
To reflect this rebranding, CI GAM has changed the names of their funds. As a result, effective August 1, 2021, Sun Life updated the segregated fund names to reflect the new underlying fund names. There are no changes to the teams managing these funds and the funds’ investment objectives and processes.
