The following updates are relevant to the Beutel Goodman Global Equity, Beutel Goodman Balanced, Beutel Goodman Fundamental Canadian Equity and Beutel Goodman Canadian Equity funds on our core investment platform.

Effective April 26, 2021, Beutel, Goodman & Company Ltd. (Beutel Goodman) announced that Ryan Fitzgerald would be taking on co-portfolio management responsibilities for the Global Equity strategy, alongside Colin Ramkissoon. As a result, Glenn Fortin is no longer a co-portfolio manager on Global Equity. Fortin will focus on his co-portfolio management roles on the U.S. equity and North American focused equity strategies.

Beutel Goodman’s approach to equity research and portfolio structure continues to be team-based. Their bottom-up investment process also drives this approach, with the co-lead managers responsible for final portfolio decision making.

Beutel Goodman also announced that Ryan Laird is joining the team as Credit Analyst, Fixed Income. His initial credit-industry coverage includes telecommunications, media and technology. Laird replaces Mary Crowe, who is transitioning from the Fixed Income team to the Canadian Equities team. Mary’s Canadian equity coverage will include both the large and small-cap portfolios. This is in line with the team’s current cross-portfolio collaboration efforts.
