The impact of the devastating floods, mudslides, and rockslides continues in British Columbia. These events have affected tens of thousands of people. It’s especially traumatic for the many communities that only recently dealt with the impacts of extreme heat and wildfires.

  • All client level withdrawal fees will be waived when processed through the CCC.
  • Hold time for a cheque cancellation will be lifted and re-issued immediately for amounts under $10K when processed through any GRS avenue.
  • CCC can enter same day withdrawals up to 8 p.m. ET instead of the regular 4 p.m. ET cut off.

For our Group Benefits Clients, we’ve taken the following steps:

  • Prescription drugs and medical equipment: Some plan members may not be able to get their medications or medical equipment (including prescription eyewear). They can call us at 1-800-786-5433 and we’ll arrange to get what they need. For medications, our pharmacy providers can refill medication on an exceptional basis, including early refills.
  • Dental: If a plan member has lost, or lost access, to their dental guards or dentures, we can help arrange replacements.
  • Disability cheques: For plan members who’ve had a disability cheque lost or destroyed, we can cancel and reissue these cheques. We can also set up Electronic Funds Transfer payments for any plan member who needs an electronic payment option.
  • EAP support: Employee assistance programs (EAPs), whether through Sun Life RightDirections or another provider, can be a critical support. If you have an EAP, please remind plan members that this support is available 24/7. By calling, individuals will receive professional emotional support and/or a referral to local resources.

We hope that these resources can help support the health of those affected by these devastating events.
