Changes to come

As of July 1, 2022, continuing benefits coverage will no longer be available for plan members on reduced hours. Contractual limits will apply.

What does this mean for plan members?

  • Plan members working fewer than the minimum number of hours required in your contract are not eligible for benefits.
  • Plan members must meet the eligibility requirements of your plan. This includes the minimum-hour requirement. The standard is 20 hours per week, but your contract may have a different eligibility criterion.
  • If you maintained coverage for plan members on reduced hours prior to July 1, 2022, you can continue coverage for up to two months, or until July 1, whichever is the latest.

To terminate coverage, you can process member terminations in our Plan Sponsor Services website or on your administrative system.
