This April, plan members will have two campaigns to look forward to – the Find Your Balance contest and a Paper Claim Digitization campaign.
March is Fraud Awareness Month. Benefits fraud and abuse have a major impact on your group benefits plan. These actions can result in higher premium costs and reduced coverage for your employees. It also affects the sustainability of your plan. Our dedicated Fraud Risk Management team plays a key role in preventing and detecting group benefits fraud.
#EmbraceEquity – International Women’s Day
This International Women’s Day, we’re encouraging you to consider women’s health equity in your group benefits plan.
Mental health has become an increasing challenge for many organizations. Sun Life data shows how young people have been disproportionately affected since the beginning of the pandemic. Claims for mental disorders increased by 24% among younger employees between 2019 and 2021. Plan members under the age of 35 saw a 51% increase in mental disorder paramedical claims. Meanwhile, mental disorders account for an increasing proportion of disability claims, especially among younger workers.
We’re proud to support you and your employees through whatever life throws your way. In 2022, we continued to expand our health-care solutions to better support you.
