As we communicated earlier, the my Sun Life Mobile app is getting even better with the addition of our new drug features.

Empowering plan members

My Sun Life Mobile now provides convenient drug information: this new enhancement lets plan members look up a specific drug by name or DIN (drug identification number) to view coverage info, as well as giving them access to a history of drug claims submitted over the past 12 months. Additional information available on both features includes:

  • potential generic and/or therapeutic alternatives and cost-saving opportunities for many drugs, and
  • detailed information about the drug and how it works.
No other app provides this level of info, and it’s exclusive to Sun Life plan members!

These features work together providing comprehensive drug coverage information to help plan members prepare for discussions with their health care professionals about their prescription

medications, and whether any of the potential alternatives are suitable for them[1].  Everyone benefits from getting the best value for their drug expense, without any changes to the plan design!

Our existing award-winning mobile experience also includes on-the-go access to:

  • e-claims,
  • coverage cards,
  • medical and vision coverage,
  • spending account balances, and
  • group retirement savings information.


Plan members on drug card plans have access to these exciting enhancements, which are available across all of the mobile platforms that my Sun Life Mobile currently supports – including Android™, iPhone® (including iOS 8), BlackBerry® devices, and on our mobile web app at for devices using older operating systems[2].

We’ve put together a Communication Toolkit for plan sponsors to promote my Sun Life Mobile and the new enhancements to plan members.
