What can you do when you connect with Sun Life through Alexa?

Follow 3 simple steps to set up your Alexa device with Sun Life:

Open the Alexa app on your smartphone.

Search for the Sun Life skill.

Click Enable to use. If you are a Sun Life plan member, you can now link your Sun Life account.

  1. Select I am a Client,
  2. Enter your Sun Life sign-in ID and password (which is the same as your mysunlife.ca sign-in details),
  3. Select Connect.

Create a 4-digit voice security PIN.

You’re all set! To get started, simply say “Alexa, open Sun Life.

As an added layer of security, you’ll be asked to say your 4-digit PIN when you ask to check your account information. This PIN is unique to you. It should be separate from your mysunlife.ca login credentials and PIN codes used for other accounts and services. This PIN should not be shared with anyone else as it gives you access to information that may be confidential. Please use caution when saying your PIN as people nearby may overhear you.

To use Provider Search:

  1. You will need to enable the Sun Life skill through the Alexa app on your phone.
  2. To activate Provider Search, simply say “Alexa, ask Sun Life”, “Alexa, launch Sun Life”, or “Alexa, ask Sun Life to find me a provider” and Ella will take it from there and help you find the health care provider you need.

To check your benefits details and status of your claim:

  1. You will need to enable the Sun Life skill through the Alexa app on your phone.
  2. Open the Sun Life skill by saying, “Alexa, open Sun Life.”
    • If you want to check the balance of a health benefits account, say “Alexa, ask Sun Life to check my HSA/PSA/Vision/Massage Therapy/Physiotherapy/Chiropractor/Psychologist balance.”
    • If you want to check coverage details, such as remaining balance, limit, percentage covered, or deductible information for Massage Therapy, Chiropractor, Physiotherapy or Psychologist coverage, ask “Am I covered for a Massage Therapist / Chiropractor / Physiotherapist / Psychologist?”
    • If you want to check status of your recently submitted claim, ask “What is the status of my recently submitted claim?”
  3. You will be asked to say your 4-digit voice security PIN. Please use caution when saying your PIN, as people nearby may overhear you.
  4. Once you are logged in, Ella will take it from there, and help you check your benefits details and/or the status of your claim.

To review your workplace investments:

  1. You will need to enable the Sun Life skill through the Alexa app on your phone.
  2. If you want to check your balances and rates of return, say “Alexa, ask Sun Life to check my workplace investments.”
    • To hear your information, you will be asked to say your 4-digit voice security PIN. Please use caution when saying your PIN as people nearby may overhear you.
  3. Once you are successfully logged in, Ella will take it from there and help you review your investments.
