Sun Life offers 5 Rotational Leadership Development Programs (RLDP). These programs attract, retain and develop the best talent in the industry. Through these programs, we hire a select group of graduates we hope will become the future leaders of our business.

The Rotational Leadership Development Programs offer the opportunity to rotate through different roles within Sun Life. When you're hired into a program you'll start in one of our major locations. Subsequent roles could involve relocation to other Canadian cities. Program description:
Develops future, cross-functional business leaders by providing meaningful career experiences, enabling participants to explore and become versatile, well-connected leaders.

Rotations:
Rotate through 3 different roles over a 3 year period.

Business lines:
Supports all businesses in Sun Life, including; group benefits, Canadian operations, finance, individual insurance and wealth, group retirement services, client solutions, human resources, marketing, Sun Life Financial Quebec, Sun Life Global Investments and International Investment Centre.

Career path:
Leads to a range of challenging roles across all lines of business in Sun Life to accelerate your path to becoming a future general manager or business leader.

Hiring locations:
Toronto, Waterloo and Montreal.

Eligibility:
If you are in a Commerce or Business or Engineering program that will be completed by the spring of the following year, you are eligible to apply for this program.

Program description:
Develops specialized information technology professionals within a leadership path.

Rotations:
Rotate through 3 different roles within a 24 month period.

Business lines:
Supports all businesses in Sun Life and Sun Life Investment Management in North America, Europe and Asia.

Career path:
Leads to a range of challenging roles in future focused information technology fields.

Hiring locations:
Toronto, Waterloo.

Eligibility:
If you are in an Engineering, Computer Science or Business program that will be completed by the spring of the following year, you are eligible to apply for this program.

Program description:
Develops future asset managers and investments leaders for the Sun Life Investment Management Group of Companies.

Rotations:
Rotate through 3 different roles over a 3 year period.

Business lines:
Private fixed income, public fixed income, real estate, mortgages, derivatives, bonds, trading, research, third party sales & service.

Career path:
Leads to a range of exciting opportunities in asset management, portfolio management and general investments management.

Hiring locations:
Toronto, Waterloo.

Eligibility:
If you are in a Commerce or Business program that will be completed by the spring of the following year, you are eligible to apply for this program.

Program description:
Develops risk management and compliance professionals who apply risk management frameworks and draw on broad regulatory knowledge.

Rotations:
Rotate through 3 different roles over a 3 year period.

Business lines:
In Canada and globally; individual and group insurance, wealth management, pensions and asset management.

Career path:
Leads to a range of industry leading risk management and compliance roles across all lines of business and enterprise risk management.

Hiring locations:
Toronto, Waterloo

Eligibility:
If you are in a Commerce or Business program that will be completed by the spring of the following year, you are eligible to apply for this program.

Program description:
Develops future sales professionals by becoming experts in group benefits products and services, evaluating risk and pricing.

Rotations:
Rotate through 2 roles in a 12 to 30 month period.

Business lines:
Group benefits, group underwriting, business development in Group Benefits.

Career path:
Small market account executive, mid/large market account executive, sales management.

Hiring locations:
Placements Canada wide with training programs in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.

How do I apply?

Sun Life recruits for these programs each September, posting available positions and hosting campus events throughout the month at a number of universities. Contact your career centre for specific dates and locations.

If you attend a university that Sun Life does not visit, we encourage you to apply online through the month of September.
