Senior Vice-President, Group Benefits

As Senior Vice-President, Brigitte sets the direction for Group Benefits and oversees all business unit initiatives to ensure alignment with Sun Life’s overall goals.

Brigitte joined Sun Life Financial in 1995 and has many years of experience on the Canadian Executive Team, including leading Individual Insurance and Wealth, Client Solutions, and Group Benefits. She is well known for her commitment to service excellence, innovation and for building strong relationships with Clients and advisors.

From 2012 to 2016, Brigitte led Individual Insurance and Wealth for Sun Life Financial Canada, where she was accountable for overseeing the creation and distribution of insurance and wealth management products and solutions and for steering the business unit’s strategy of delivering holistic advice through our distribution channels, as well as growing the wealth management business and retirement market. Before that, Brigitte was Senior Vice-President, Client Solutions, where she was accountable for overseeing the Client Solutions business, providing new and existing Clients with wealth and protection solutions, utilizing direct capabilities in product management, as well as distribution and marketing.

Brigitte has extensive leadership experience within the Group Benefits business. From 2004 to 2008 she led Group Benefits for Sun Life Canada. From 2009 to 2011 she was Senior Vice-President, Group Benefits, International where she was accountable for driving additional growth in our group benefits and retirement business across international boundaries. She also led the Clarica and Sun Life Group Benefits integration from 2001 to 2003.

Brigitte holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from École des Hautes Études Commerciales. In 2015, she was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by The Women’s Executive Network, where she received the RBC Champions Award to recognize the difference she has made in helping to advance women in the Canadian workplace.
