Dunk For Diabetes

Sun Life, the Toronto Raptors, NBA Canada and Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada have teamed up against type 2 diabetes

Dunk For Diabetes

Encouraging youth to have fun, stay active and live healthier lives

Sun Life Dunk for Diabetes is an innovative type 2 diabetes awareness and prevention program. We’re encouraging healthy habits through basketball-inspired fitness challenges, nutrition education, encouragement from Raptors players and Sun Life advisors, and exciting Raptors prizes.

How Sun Life Dunk for Diabetes Works

In 2018-2019, Sun Life Dunk for Diabetes will operate at 50 Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada locations across the country. Our engaging grassroots program is composed of three key components.

We are proud supporters of the MLSE LaunchPad, where youth facing barriers can use sports to recognize and reach their potential.

To reflect our commitment to the Sun Life-sponsored Healthy Me, Healthy Community program and the Sun Life Financial Nutrition Hub, Sun Life will donate $1,000 for each slam-dunk by a Raptors player during 2018-19 regular-season home games, up to a maximum of $200,000. Look for details as the Raptors season progresses!

Sun Life is committed to the prevention of diabetes and its related complications.

We support diabetes programs that encourage and help with diabetes prevention, make Canadians aware of this disease, further innovative advances in diabetes research and provide specialized care.
