Pay-Direct Drug e-claims enhancement

On November 14, 2011, we are implementing drug e-claims on our plan member website,, for clients whose plans include Pay-Direct Drug (PDD) cards and who have

e-claims enabled for other expenses. This applies to deferred PDD plans as well.

While we expect that members will continue to have their drug claims processed at the pharmacy, this e-claims enhancement will provide plan members with another option in how they claim for their prescription drug purchases. E-claims also gives them added convenience, e.g., if they forget to bring their drug card to the pharmacy.

Note: Drug e-claims will not be available through my Sun Life Mobile at this time.

The plan member experience

As of November 14, plan members with PDD cards and e-claims will see drug e-claims as an option on our website. Once they sign in, they just need to select this option and follow the few simple steps. As with other online claims, most expenses will be processed instantly, the plan member can access their claim statements immediately and typically their claim payments will be deposited into their bank account within 48 hours.

Protecting your plan

PDD e-claiming is integrated with the same adjudication system and fraud controls used at pharmacies. In addition, we’ve been offering e-claims for over11 years. Our experience in this field, along with our additional robust fraud management capabilities helps protect your plan.
