Getting a little more green with non-annual paperless statements for plan members

Next year we will take the next step in our sustainability efforts and leverage digital capabilities by changing the print schedules of our clients whose members still receive more than one printed statement a year.

What's changing?
As of January 2017, the following aspects of monthly plan member statements will change:

  • The option to receive printed non-annual statements from Sun Life will no longer be available to plan sponsors or plan members.
  • Annual statements will continue to be printed and mailed to plan members unless they have requested only paperless statements.
  • For plan sponsors and plan members who have already chosen paperless to receive paperless statements, there will be no change.

Communications with plan members
Plan members will be encouraged to visit mysunlife.ca with a special message on their next statement to review their paperless statements or download the my Sun Life Mobile app to quickly and easily view their account information on the go.

We believe that this direction will also align with many of our clients' value of responsible sustainability, carbon footprint, and digital alternatives.
