Invesco Canada Ltd. (Invesco) announced that Rex Chong, head of fixed income, who had been on sabbatical since July, 2012, has decided not to return to the firm and resigned effective January 24, 2013.  Alfred Samson, Anthony Imbesi, and Gary Lew, who have been part of the Trimark fixed income team since 2005, 1999 and 2004 respectively, will continue to manage Trimark's fixed income portfolios.

Alfred Samson will continue in the role of lead portfolio manager on the Trimark Canadian Bond Fund and the fixed income portion of the Trimark Income Growth Fund. He is supported by portfolio managers Anthony Imbesi and Gary Lew. Invesco confirmed that there will be no changes to the investment process or approach of the funds.

Background

In August 2012 we announced that Mr. Chong would be taking a leave of absence for up to six months due to personal reasons. At that time, Alfred Samson assumed his role as the interim portfolio manager on the Trimark Canadian Bond Fund and the fixed income portion of the Trimark Income Growth Fund.

The Trimark investment leadership team consisting of Ian Hardacre, Michael Hatcher and Rob Mikalachki meet bi-weekly with the fixed income team to review portfolio positioning, investment decisions, and performance. Additional support for oversight will be provided by Invesco’s global performance and risk management team, who will continue to supply portfolio analysis and performance attribution to the leadership team.
