my Sun Life mobile – the enhancements continue in October!

2015 has been an exciting year for our mobile app and we are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of even more new enhancements for Apple and Android users.

In June, we introduced several new features, including Digital image capture and "my notifications" for Apple devices and contextual messages for both Apple and Android <my Sun Life Mobile keeps growing with new features>. In October, we are launching the following:

1) Current features for Apple, new in October for Android:

  • Digital Image Capture -- Plan members who have their benefits plan with Sun Life can submit a range of claim documents through the app, and it’s as simple as snapping a photo.
  • "my notifications" - The message centre will show messages, ranging from fund updates to offers available through their workplace plan.

2) Features coming in October for both Apple and Android:

  • Save my banking information - plan members who make a lump sum contribution can now save their banking information for future contributions. The same feature has been added to, creating a seamless lump-sum contribution experience across all of our platforms.

Other enhancements for members with a Sun Life benefit plan:

  • Provider validation: Providers entered will now be validated in real time.
  • Photo library feature. Plan members will be able to save their claims related photos, browse and select the best image when they are ready to submit.

And there’s even more great news for Android users! Following the update, they will also enjoy an improved experience as the app will reside on their device, rather than on the internet, better utilizing their device’s capabilities.

  • If you don’t provide mobile access for your plan members, now is the time to reconsider!
  • If you do, your plan members can go to to download the app and explore the new features. To help with the promotion, your Group Retirement Services representative will have materials to help you create campaigns.
