Introducing electronic fund transfers (EFT) for non-resident RRIF/LIF members

We are pleased to introduce electronic fund transfer (EFT) payments for non-resident RRIF/LIF members with a Canadian bank account. With many RRIF/LIF members living at least part of the year outside of Canada, these members will be able to choose EFT payments to receive their payments faster.

What members need to do:

  • If a non-resident RRIF/LIF member has a Canadian bank account and would like to receive their payments as EFTs, they need to contact the Customer Care Centre (1-866-733-8612, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET) or their HR department, as appropriate.
  • If the member does not have a Canadian bank account or would like to still receive a cheque, there is no action required as we will continue to process cheques manually unless the member takes action.
