BlackRock MSCI Emerging Markets Index Segregated fund added to our DB investment platform

June 9, 2014

We're pleased to announce the addition of a new fund to the DB investment platform: effective immediately, the BlackRock MSCI Emerging Markets Index Segregated fund is available to be used by DB pension plans looking for passive, low cost exposure to emerging markets.

About the fund
This new fund increases the depth of options available in our Specialty Global Equity asset classes and is available to accept assets immediately.

The objective of the fund is to achieve a return equal to the total return of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, with net dividends reinvested on an unhedged basis.

The strategy uses a full replication approach by holding local securities wherever possible. In some limited instances where access to locally listed securities is restricted, exchange-traded funds, American Depository Receipts or Global Depository Receipts equivalent will be used instead of local securities.
