Michel Collings*, CFP, Advisor
Michel joined Sun Life Financial in 2005, and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She has completed a variety of financial planning programs throughout her career, and has most recently earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Michel lives in the Crowsnest Pass with her husband and daughter. She works in the Laurie, Kenna & Associates Financial Services Blairmore office, advising clients in the Crowsnest Pass and surrounding area.
Don Groves*, Advisor
Before joining Laurie, Kenna and Associates, Don enjoyed a successful career in the insurance and financial industry. In the interest of providing the best possible service to his clients, he joined Laurie, Kenna & Associates in 2005. His partnership with the firm has been an unquestionable success, and he has maintained his reputation for excellent client care. When he's not at work, Don enjoys spending time with his family, as well as volunteering with local youth in the sports community.
James Nilsson*,CFP, Advisor
James was born and raised in Grande Prairie. He joined our team in 2006 after four years of community work as a youth pastor. As one of the youngest members, James has brought new life and energy to our advisor team. He balances his commitments to his young growing family and his career with officiating local basketball.
Blake Corey*, B.Mgt., Advisor
Blake was born here in Lethbridge, and has lived in Coaldale most his life. He graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management, Major in Finance. Blake joined our firm in August of 2009.
Stacey Lutz, Advisor
Stacey brings with her excellent customer relationship skills and a strong work ethic to help you achieve your financial goals. She grew up in Coutts, Alberta, and moved to "the big city" to pursue a post-secondary education at the Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge. She started her career in the social services area and then moved to Davis General Motors before joining Laurie, Kenna & Associates in the summer of 2011.
She is passionate about her career in financial services and is dedicated to providing sound insurance and investment advice to Southern Alberta residents.
Scott Walls* RHU, B.Mgt., Advisor
Scott’s career in the life insurance industry started in 1998, following nine years as a golf professional. When he began his career as a life agent, Scott primarily assisted individual clients with their insurance and savings needs. Now focusing on the group insurance market, Scott works closely with human resource managers and business owners to assist in the delivery of their employee benefits plans.
Alastair Maclean*, Advisor
Alastair has been self-employed for much of his working life which prepared him for his successful career as an independent insurance advisor. He joined Mutual Life of Canada in 1988 and put his business background to work for him and his clients. Alistair provides appropriate group insurance solutions for his clients, with an objective of bringing clarity and value to business owners and employees in their employee benefit plans.
Cindy Sorkilmo, Administrative assistant
Having spent most of her life in Lethbridge, Cindy worked in the dental field before joining Laurie, Kenna and Associates in 2006. As our booking administrator and receptionist, Cindy is often thought of as the “face and voice” of our firm.
Karen Hanson, Administrative assistant
Karen joined our team in 2006 and specializes in group retirement and benefits. She is a long-time resident of Lethbridge, where she raised her family. Karen works with local employers to provide equitable benefits to their employees, and assists those very employees to ensure they understand and use their benefits effectively.
Marilyn Lowenberg, Administrative assistant
Marilyn was born and raised in the Kootney’s of British Columbia from where she then moved to Calgary, AB to work as a dental assistant for over 17 years. She wanted to live in a smaller city with a new challenge in the health field working at Medichair in Lethbridge for 2 ½ years. Marilyn joined our team in 2010, as our Life Insurance administrator.
Melonie Jackson, Licensed Administrative assistant
Melonie was born in Calgary but raised in Lethbridge. After spending 20 yrs in the Drafting field, she and her husband took a 5 year working holiday in Ireland. Having now returned to her roots, she started a new career with us in 2010. She is now our Asset administrator. Outside of work she hopes to continue to travel and when not travelling, she is enjoying being a Grama for the first time.
Andrew Ririe, Administrative Assistant, Team Lead
Andrew (Drew) joined our team in 2011 after a successful career with Sun Life Financial U.S. Service Center. He brings that knowledge and experience to Laurie, Kenna & Associates to continually improve the client experience in our office. His strong leadership and project management skills help streamline processes and support the team when needed.
Devin Kenna, Licensed Administrative assistant
Devin was born and raised in Lethbridge. After graduating from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, in 2007, he travelled to Europe and once again in 2008. Being an avid photographer, Devin enjoys exploring new places and environments; he also enjoys his other hobbies of snowboarding and camping. He is excited about bringing youth and vitality to the team and eager to experience the possibilities ahead.
