The sun is shining even brighter in the Dominican Republic thanks to a group of Sun Life Financial advisors.

We were among those advisors attending a conference from March 25-28, 2010, in Punta Cana. We spent a day helping out at a local school. We and our families cleaned up the grounds, did some landscaping, built a playground, and painted the school inside and outside.

We also donated money to purchase new desks. Sun Life Financial made a matching donation that paid for a new roof, wiring, septic system and well, ceiling fans and fridge, generator, new doors, steps and screens.

It was a rewarding hands-on experience for everyone involved. And 70 children much less fortunate than us now have a school they can look forward to attending.

We're always proud to give back to my community and to help others in need.

Century Group community involvement

At Century Group Financial Solutions Inc. giving back to the community we live and work in is very important to us. All partners and staff contribute in various ways to many local charitable organizations. From coaching hockey, volunteering, sitting on local boards, contributing financially, and attending various fundraising events.

For 2008 and 2009 Century Group Financial Solutions Inc. will continue to support Big Brothers Big Sisters as our corporate charity of choice. Within this community, over 300 local volunteers work together to ensure that the organization is a success and that the children served are able to enjoy the many programs and services offered. One of our partners, Christopher Annett has been involved with this organization for many years both on the board and at the volunteer level.

As part of our financial commitment to this organization, Century Group Financial Solutions Inc. will make a charitable contribution of $2 for each client care survey returned to the office by our clients. This program has raised thousands of dollars for this cause over the years and we are excited to continue this wonderful tradition.
