Quebec amends drug plan

#515

PDF Version

Quebec has made some changes to the out-of-pocket maximum and co-insurance amounts for its basic drug plan. The changes, effective July 1, 2015, affect plan sponsors who provide drug coverage to Quebec plan members.

Legislative change Drug claims for Quebec plan members
Increase in annual out-of-pocket maximum to $1,029 from $1,006 Drug claims from Quebec plan members for drugs listed on the RAMQ formulary will now be subject to the new out-of-pocket maximum of $1,029
Decrease in co-insurance (amount RAMQ pays) to 66% from 67.5% Drug claims from Quebec plan members for drugs listed on the RAMQ formulary will now be subject to the new minimum co-insurance amount of 66%

We’re in the process of updating our systems to reflect this change. There will be no immediate rate adjustments due to the changes and we expect minimal impact on plan members and on claim experience.
