This fall, Sun Life plan members will have access to a one-of-a-kind experience: the my Sun Life Mobile app is getting even better with the addition of our new drug coverage feature!

My Sun Life Mobile will provide plan members with convenient drug information at their fingertips, including:

  • drug coverage,
  • potential generic and/or therapeutic drug alternatives and cost-saving opportunities,
  • detailed information about the drug and how it works, and
  • a history of drug claims submitted over the past 12 months.

No other app provides this level of info, and only Sun Life plan members will get it!

Another way to manage drug plan expenses

Plan members will have the information they need when they need it, preparing them to have a conversation with their health care professional about their prescription medications. You and your plan members may both benefit from getting the best value for their drug expense, all without any changes to your plan design!

It’s just one more way Sun Life is providing convenience for plan members, and helping you manage your drug plan costs.

Building on mobile innovation

The new features are in addition to our award-winning mobile plan member experience, which already includes 24-hour, on-the-go access to:

  • e-claims for medical expenses,
  • convenient travel and coverage cards,
  • medical and vision coverage information,
  • health and personal spending account balances, and
  • single sign-on for joint group benefits and group retirement savings clients.


If your plan has the Pay-Direct Drug (PDD) card, your plan members will have access to these exciting enhancements.

The enhancements will be available across all of the mobile platforms that my Sun Life Mobile currently supports – including iPhone, BlackBerry®, AndroidTM devices, and on our mobile web app at for devices using older operating systems.
