Following our previous communication, there is now a clear intention to strike by Canada Post workers. The strike will begin at 11:59 p.m. EDT in Winnipeg (10:59 p.m. CDT). The Winnipeg local will be on strike for 24 hours, after which the strike will continue in other locations to be announced later. However negotiations are still underway and a settlement may still be reached, in which case it will be 'business as usual'.

This is a very fluid situation and our plans for alleviating impact to our clients are developing all the time.  In order to provide you with up-to-the-minute information, we will be posting all further notifications on our website sunlife.ca. You can link to our special 'Postal Strike Information' page directly from the homepage.  Plan members will be directed to the same page from their sign-in page, mysunlife.ca. Information will be posted on the morning of June 3rd, when it’s anticipated the strike will begin.

Going forward, sunlife.ca is the best place for you to get the most up-to-date information and we encourage you to visit regularly.

We have attached a communication for your members that you can print off and post or forward as an email.

We thank you for your understanding and assure you that we are doing our very best to alleviate delay and disruption as much as possible.

You can keep up with developments in the strike negotiations on www.infopost.ca.

Note: If your plan members received an email during the recent ‘Get your claim on!’ campaign, they will also receive an email promoting online claims as a great way to avoid delays.
