We are pleased to announce that Brigitte Parent, Senior Vice-President, Group Benefits will assume the position of Senior Vice-President, Group Business, International. Brigitte will be succeeded by Stuart Monteith, who joins Sun Life Financial as Senior Vice-President, Group Benefits, Sun Life Financial Canada on October 14.

In her newly created role, Brigitte Parent will be responsible for driving additional growth in our group benefit and retirement businesses across international boundaries, developing more business with global clients, strengthening relationships with key global distribution partners and entering new markets where appropriate.

Stuart Monteith is an accomplished insurance and consulting executive who has worked in the benefits and pension business across Canada. Stuart began his career at Manulife Financial in 1980, ultimately becoming Western Regional Vice-President of Group & Pension Operations. In 1995 he moved to the benefits consulting world at Mercer, assuming roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as leader of Mercer's Group Benefits business in Canada. Stuart brings with him a strong track record of sales growth and profitability in competitive markets.

Brigitte is working with Stuart to ensure a smooth leadership transition before she assumes her new role on January 5, 2009.
