TELUS extends offer to purchase Emergis

A joint announcement was made November 29, 2007, by TELUS and Emergis that they have entered into an offer to permit TELUS to purchase all outstanding common shares of Emergis by way of a takeover bid.

The bid has been positioned as advantageous for both organizations in that Emergis' existing expertise, applications and customer base will strengthen TELUS' existing industry solutions. Through the completion of the offer process and beyond we have been assured by senior Emergis management that it will be "business as usual" under our Services Agreement with Emergis.

Over the next couple of weeks we will continue to watch as developments unfold from a equity markets perspective to the offer. We will also meet with Emergis leadership and assess any impact to our current agreement with Emergis and customer service outcomes.

For further information, please refer to the public notice on the offer: TELUS acquisition of Emergis creates leading electronic health care solutions provider.
