Our Plan Member Services site is getting even better!

We’re very pleased to be introducing a great new feature on our Plan Member Services website—Drug-Related Information. Starting May 7, when you use the Drug Look Up tool to check whether you are covered for a drug, the new Drug-Related Information feature can link you directly to up-to-date, doctor-approved information on that drug and the condition it treats. Finding reliable information just got easier.

How does the new feature work?

If you have a Pay-Direct Drug (PDD) plan

  • Sign into to Plan Member Services website and select the new “Drugs” tab on Benefits Explorer.
  • You will see your name and the names of your dependents covered under the plan listed. Select the name of the person whose coverage you want to search, then search by drug name or drug identification number (DIN).
  • Drug Look Up produces a list of all matching drugs and indicates the percentage covered for each. Where a generic alternative is available, the search result indicates a generic will be covered.
  • The Drug-Related Information feature links you directly to additional information for each drug listed.

If you are part of a reimbursement plan

  • Sign into to Plan Member Services website and select the new “Drugs” tab on Benefits Explorer.
  • Search by drug name or drug identification number (DIN)—results include you and your dependents automatically.
  • Drug Look Up produces a list of all matching drugs and shows coverage eligibility as “Yes” or “No” for each drug listed. Where a generic alternative is available, the search result indicates that a generic will be covered.
  • The Drug-Related Information feature links you directly to additional information for each drug listed.

Drug-Related Information is drawn from the Health & Wellness Companion, which is also available to you on the Sun Life Financial plan member services site. The Health & Wellness Companion has lots of great features, including health risk assessments and health and medical libraries.
