We’re very excited by recent positive media coverage of our generic substitution rollout to plan sponsors. Our message about the need for drug plan sustainability and the valuable solutions that Sun Life offers is spreading!

Here’s the coverage we’ve had so far:

September 11, 2012 National Post – Sun Life was spotlighted with a front-page story. Dave Jones, Vice President, Market Development, was quoted throughout on Sun Life’s commitment to drug plan sustainability and plan member choice of their medication. Read the full article.

September 12, 2012 770 AM The Rutherford Radio Show - Dave Jones was interviewed about changes in coverage for generic and brand name drugs in Sun Life group benefit policies. Issues such as rising drug prices and the efforts to keep drug plans sustainable for Canadian employers were also discussed. Listen to part 1 and part 2 of the interview.

And there’s more to come –other publications have interviewed Dave Jones on this topic and we expect an article in the October 8 issue of HR Reporter and one in Benefits Canada to be released shortly.

And…check out the September issue of Benefits Canada for an in-depth summary of the 2012 Canadian Leadership Council on Drug Evaluation. We’re pleased to have been part of this important discussion as industry leaders, including our own Mark Rolnick, Director, Pharmaceutical Benefits, addressed questions such as which drugs to cover, does there need to be a separate drug evaluation process for private plans, and whether we have the right tools in place to know if we are making the right decisions. Read the summary document and the whitepaper.
