Upgrade to report software coming soon

Sun Life Financial is upgrading the report software it uses to enhance your online reporting experience, and ensure robust, ongoing support for business critical applications.

Why are we making the change?

The BusinessObjects™ XI tool version currently used for most reports will no longer be supported by the vendor after the end of February 2012, so we are moving to the upgraded BusinessObjects™ XI version 3.1. It is part of our continuous investment in technology, to ensure we provide you with the best possible service through our Plan Sponsor Services website.

What does this change mean to you?

  • We’re simplifying the way in which reports are viewed, printed and saved.  Reports will no longer appear within the Infoviewer screen; instead, for some reports you will need to select the format in which you require the report, others will open directly in the format they were intended.
  • Format options available for downloading reports are Adobe Acrobat (PDF) and Excel (data only).
  • GBA Administrative reports will be available for seven days only.  If users want to keep the report(s) longer than seven days, they will need to download and save them. 

This upgrade means reports will now be easier to view with less clicks, and will be opened automatically in the format you select.  No changes have been made to the reports themselves, just the way you access them.

Please note:  Some historical reports will no longer be immediately available for viewing, but the data will be retained.  Reports can be re-scheduled and then viewed.

These improvements will be rolled out in early February.
