Greystone Managed Investments Inc. Organizational Change

Plan sponsors may wish to consider whether this investment news has any implications for the investment options available within their plans. Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada purchases units of the funds listed below, which are established as segregated funds in accordance with the Insurance Companies Act (Canada).

Greystone Managed Investments Inc. (Greystone) has announced that Donnie MacKay, Managing Director and Head of Canadian Equities, will be retiring effective December 31, 2015.  Greystone has a tradition of disciplined succession planning when possible, and began the two year transition period on January 1, 2014 with the appointment of James Baldwin as Senior Vice-President and Co-Head of Canadian Equities. Mr. Baldwin will succeed Mr. MacKay upon his retirement.

Mr. Baldwin and Mr. MacKay will co-lead all management aspects of the Canadian Equity funds at Greystone, including the Greystone Canadian Equity Fund from January 1, 2014 until Mr. Baldwin is named lead portfolio manager of the funds in 2015. Mr. MacKay will continue to support Mr. Baldwin until December 31, 2015. Greystone has assured that there are no plans to change or modify the current investment philosophy or process of the funds.

Background
Mr. Baldwin is currently a Vice-President at Greystone responsible for Canadian Equity portfolio research and analysis. He joined the firm in 2001 and served jointly as an analyst with the Canadian and
U.S. equity teams until 2008, when he was promoted to the U.S. team as Portfolio Manager. He was promoted to Vice-President in 2009 and transferred to the Canadian equity team in 2011. Mr. Baldwin is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and has a B.Comm. from Queen’s University.
