Changes to MFS Investment Management fund names

February 18, 2014

Plan sponsors may wish to consider whether this investment news has any implications for the investment options available within their plans. Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada purchases units of the funds listed below, which are established as segregated funds in accordance with the Insurance Companies Act (Canada).

In January 2014, MFS Investment Management (MFS) made name changes to some of their fixed income funds. As a result, Sun Life Financial segregated funds - which invest in units of the below funds - have also had a name change effective February 14, 2014. The name change was implemented in order to highlight the regional nature of the funds and is consistent with how MFS names their domestic equity funds.
